Internship Program
According to recent research, India has 12 million children living with disabilities. Disconcertingly, 1 in 60 children are getting diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
In this context, we need a greater number of professionals and educators to get involved in the process of assessment, intervention and documentation of success and breakthroughs while working with the population of Special Needs Individuals (SNIs). Therefore, from the perspectives of progression in scientific research and job opportunities, there is a huge demand for quality professionals in this domain.
Akshadhaa’s Internship program is designed to provide intensive exposure both in one-to-one and group settings. The body of work straddles a broad range of SNI needs ranging from early intervention and transition to vocational and life skill training. There is an opportunity to explore relatively new intervention areas of therapeutic art, drama, music, and movement therapy for people with autism.
Benefits of participating in this program
- Students gain relevant experience in the application of behaviour analysis principles while working with SNIs.
- Students get the opportunity to train and work alongside professionals while receiving academic credit.
- A Masters or Doctoral level clinician supervises interns.
- Our internships are flexible to the scheduling needs of the student.
